Actress Ruth Maria Kubitschek passes away
Starting her acting career in 2013, she appeared in the movie "Frau Ella" alongside Matthias Schweighöfer and August Diehl, receiving public recognition with a Jupiter award. Born on August 2, 1931, as the eldest of four siblings, her family relocated from Komotau, Czech Republic to Saxony-Anhalt following WWII. Pursuing her passion for acting, Kubitschek was schooled in Halle an der Saale and Weimar. In 1959, after a theater engagement, she sought refuge in the western world.
In 1966, Kubitschek gained recognition through the Francis Durbridge series "Melissa", leading to many more appearances on TV. Afterward, she rose to fame by starring in the films of Helmut Dietl - "Monaco Franze" and "Kir Royal". During her later years, she moved to Switzerland and dabbled in various hobbies - writing books, painting, gardening, and exploring esotericism.
