Highway without tolls - A decision has yet to be reached in the case stemming from the A49 demonstrations.

In Gießen, the Administrative Court conducted a hearing about a lady's complaint against a cost decision involving protests against the growth of Autobahn 49 in Mittelhessen on a Friday. A verdict has not yet been reached, and it will be sent to her in writing, as stated by a court representative.

Activists rallied against the cutting of trees for Autobahn extension in the Dannenröder Forest near Homberg/Ohm (Vogelsberg district) and various other woodlands in the region, during the fall and winter of 2020/2021. Some participants perched on high platforms like monopods or tripods and were frequently removed by the police. The expenses related to these occurrences were specified in connection with one of these actions.

The woman in question claims that she was not the individual who was extracted from a monopod and pushed out of the restricted region by the authorities in December 2020. Therefore, an anthropology expert was consulted, and pictures taken throughout the protests were also studied.

Apart from the complainant, the expert, and her sister were seen at the oral hearing. The court representative mentioned that the sister had previously participated in a session with the expert. As a result, it was believed that the conclusion had been phony. Following this, the expert deduced that it was unlikely that the person analyzed and the individual depicted in the photos were the same, according to the spokesperson. Within the following fortnight, the court's verdict is expected.
